Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 13, 2026
Overview
PassTrue ("the App") is a password manager application developed by Fitz Studio ("we", "us", or "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how PassTrue handles your information.
Data Storage
Local Storage Only
- All your vault data (passwords, secure notes, credit cards, identities) is stored exclusively on your device
- Your master password is never stored - only a secure hash is kept for verification
- All sensitive data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption with Argon2id key derivation
- No data is ever uploaded to cloud servers or external services
What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect personal information
- We do not collect usage analytics
- We do not collect crash reports
- We do not track your location
- We do not access your contacts
- We do not use advertising identifiers
- We do not share any data with third parties
Security
Encryption
- Your vault is protected with AES-256 encryption
- Master password is processed using Argon2id, a memory-hard key derivation function
- Biometric authentication (Face ID/Touch ID) adds an additional layer of security
- All encryption and decryption happens locally on your device
Device Authentication
- PassTrue uses your device's built-in security (Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode) to protect access
- Biometric data is handled entirely by your device's secure enclave - PassTrue never accesses raw biometric data
Device Sync
- Device Sync is optional and off until you pair devices yourself
- It moves your vault directly between your own paired devices over your local Wi-Fi network — never through our servers (we operate none)
- Every byte is encrypted end to end with keys exchanged in person by scanning a QR code; no other device can read it or join
- The App uses the local network only to find and talk to your paired devices
Passkeys and Shared Items
- Passkeys you save in PassTrue are stored in your vault on your device, encrypted like everything else; they are only used when you choose PassTrue to sign in
- Photos you share to PassTrue from other apps are encrypted and stored on your device; nothing is sent anywhere
App Updates
- The App checks for updates to its own code (via Expo's update service) and asks the App Store or Google Play whether a newer version is available. These checks carry no personal data or vault contents — only the app's version and identifier, which the stores already know
- We never receive these requests; they go to Apple, Google, or Expo
Data Export
- You may export your vault data at any time using the in-app export feature
- Exports are encrypted with a password of your choosing
- Exported files remain under your control and responsibility
Children's Privacy
PassTrue does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The App is intended for general audiences who need to securely store sensitive information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
